Medical Disclaimer
We are a group of like minded humans working together to help you aid your body’s natural ability to heal itself.
We are not: doctors, physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, nutritionists, physical therapists, magicians or mind readers. We do not diagnose health conditions, symptoms, syndromes, or the future.
If you have any concerns that the bodywork you are receiving may in anyway be in conflict, impede, or hinder your medical treatment or perceptions, it is your responsibility to communicate that with your UWAT therapist.
You are investing in your health, well being, range of motion and a host of other aspects that are affected by massage. To get the most out of your session here are a few recommendations ( the more you do, the better the results):
- Drink lots of water the day before. Lots = 90-120 oz depending on body weight.
- Arrive 10 min early, especially if it’s your first time. Traffic, life, and the unexpected tend to disrupt us and raise our stress level. Walking into a session late or at the last minute creates a one step behind / rushed mentality.
- Ask lots of questions during your session, especially when you are being seen for the first time, or with a new issue. Understanding the how and why, may allow you to avoid re-aggravating an injury.
- Do your homework. What ever you are are having worked on, most likely did not occur overnight, though it may feel that way. Often, the overnight kink in the neck has been set up by weeks/months of stress, irregular sleep and other contributing factors. Do your homework. We will spend a limited time with you to assist you in your recovery. What you do when you are away is more important than you might think. Do your homework.
Your first session will consist of a brief intake review, some range of motion activities to identify and isolate the issue. Then depending on issues and length of session, you will get on the table and work in conjunction with your therapist to achieve your goals, often those are to decrease pain, increase range of motion, and increase circulation.
During the session you can expect lots of interaction and feedback, which will lead to adjustments in your treatment and increasing your results. Once your session is complete, we will revisit the range of motion activities to identify the change and you will have time to ask more questions and you will be given homework to support the work that was done.
We use lotion. The lotion we use is an unscented hypo-allergenic base. We commonly add a little Bio-Freeze depending on the area we are working on (let your therapist know if you do not want BioFreeze used during your session). We do have coconut or jojoba oil for those who prefer oil, let your therapist know if you prefer oil, as it is not used by default.
While essential oils may be used during a session, a conversation will be had between you and your therapist regarding use, intent, and expected outcomes. If you have specific oils that you would like to have used during your session that you are providing, they must be in original packaging. We reserve the right to refuse to use any customer supplied oils for any reason.
We require 24 hours notice on cancellations. Canceling within the 24 hours of your appointment you will be charged 100% of your appointment costs.
FSA/HSA, Venmo, Cash App, Cash, ACH, Visa / Master Card / AMEX / Discover. We have been known to barter as well. Please call for details.
Yup! We can make them in just about any denomination.
We understand that we are not the lowest price around and believe that you will find that the work you receive will surpass the price you pay… if not, it’s on us!
To that end, we offer a 100% money back guarantee on all of our services.
While we make every effort to communicate during a session to avoid this situation, should you find the need to escalate your complaint past our local office:
